What is Engineering?
Throughout time, people have faced problems that greatly affected their lives. These problem include everything from finding warmth and shelter to problems we have gotten ourselves into such as global warming. Therefore, since the dawn of human existence people have been using engineering just as they still do today and always will. Engineering can be simply defined as the process of creating a solution to a problem. However the issues needing a solution are constantly changing as time goes on. The problems cavemen solved were much different from those of us today which will also differ from those of humanity in the future. Thus, it has been and always will be necessary for the survival of the human race. There will never be a perfect utopia in the world, there will always be an obstacle in our way or something that can be improved upon. This is why engineering is so crucial. Everything we have in our lives we have someone to thank for realizing there was a problem as well as for their work to find the solution to it. This is why engineering is now divided into over forty different fields ranging from Petroleum Engineering to Aerospace Engineering. By splitting it into different fields this allows people to become more specialized and better suited to their specific duties. As dreams and ideas become new inventions and innovations, people will have to adapt to include concepts and ideas that people currently can't comprehend or even imagine.
